Route:- Bangalore-Mysore-Bandipur N.P.-Sultan Battery – Wayanad.

Distance:- ~250 KMs from Bangalore

100The etymology of the word Wayanad is Vayal (paddy) Naad (land); ‘Land of Paddy Fields’.

The place became famous from Bollywood movie “Mr. and Mrs. Iyer”.

 

 

 

 

 

Wayanad is famous for its waterfalls, cool & foggy forests. Banasura Sagar dam and Sentinal Rock falls are great appetitisers for eyes. Other places of interest include:

  • Soochipara falls
  • Eddakal caves
  • Muthanga Sanctuary
  • Pakshipatalam
